Quick tip: it’s best to avoid eating a heavy meal before your session.
For your initial appointment, you’ll complete an intake form online in advance offering insights into your health history and specific concerns. During this first visit, I’ll gather additional context, discussing the information with you to customise the treatment to your unique needs. I’ll also clarify the process and address any queries before we commence.
In subsequent sessions, we’ll start with a brief review of recent health and progress, confirming the session’s treatment plan.
Your massage session takes place in a comfortable environment. Depending on the treatment type, you may wear comfortable clothing or be draped with a towel. Throughout, I’ll ensure your comfort through communication, and I encourage your feedback to enhance the experience.
After the massage, if necessary, I may recommend home care such as exercises, stretches, or lifestyle adjustments to support your recovery and progress.
Appropriate attire depends on the type of treatment you’ll be receiving:
- For Pain Relief, Injury Treatment and Sports massage, it’s best to wear comfortable and loose-fitting clothing to your appointment. Avoid tight leggings, as they can hinder the treatment process. You’ll have the option to change in private on-site. Only the area being worked on requires the loose-fitting clothing.
- For Deep Tissue Massage, disrobing to your comfort level is necessary to directly massage your skin. Female clients can choose whether or not to remove their bras. The session will involve draping to ensure your privacy and comfort. Keep in mind that underwear is required during the massage.
For focused treatments, some discomfort might arise, but the goal is to avoid outright pain. Many conditions can be effectively addressed without pain. The level of sensation depends on the complexity of the issue and the necessary extent of therapeutic intervention.
If you’re seeking a Deep Tissue Massage, the experience is more soothing. It leaves you with a heightened sense of well-being and a greater sense of freedom in the treated areas.
